BBC Sinks To New Low

This week there has been a furore in the First World about some completely ridiculous legislation being discussed in the Third World. In Pakistan, to be exact.

Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday ordered authorities to take immediate action against ‘blasphemous’ content on social media, mentioning Facebook in particular, remove sacrilegious contents and punish the perpetrators, days after a high court order.

“Those behind this heinous crime should be dealt with, without any delay,” Sharif ordered Federal Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan. “The blasphemous content on social media is a nefarious conspiracy to hurt the religious sentiments of the entire Muslim ummah (community),” he was quoted as saying.

The First World has reacted badly because Pakistan’s blasphemy laws have been used in the past to oppress, and even condemn to death, religious minorities, including Pakistan’s long-suffering Christians.

That Pakistan should even be discussing Blasphemy as a crime is nuts.

Sure, Blasphemy was a crime in the Middle Ages. But today? If some hothead religious crazies can’t take people poking fun at their alleged gods then frankly they should grow a pair. It’s 2017 not 1217.

Blaming others for the inadequacies in flexibility of their own interpretations of their so-called religions is just as pathetic in the Third World as political correctness gone mad  in the First – like when, in 2007, Santa Clauses in Sydney, Australia, were forced to revolt for the right to say “Ho Ho Ho” which “could frighten children and be derogatory to women because it was too close to the slang for prostitute”.

You’d think that Britain’s national broadcaster, the BBC, would be up in arms about Sharif’s statement. After all, the BBC has recently been ranting and raving about Donald Trump in America, especially after he referred to them as fake news.

Nope.

Extraordinarily, BBC Asian Network ran with a segment yesterday asking listeners to call in and suggest what they considered the right punishment for blasphemy.

You could not make this stuff up:

How long before the BBC licence fee is reduced to a tenner a year for radio and web services by popular fury with all other content being paid for by voluntary subscription? Why should the British public be funding radio stations like the Asian Network, which the Market should determine viable or not.

Every licence fee paying Briton deserves a refund for this nonsense. The BBC is the British Broadcasting Corporation and is letting us all down. The BBC is supposed to be impartial but knock out of the ballpark any craziness by using its investigative journalists to expose the hell out of it.

Instead, what do we get?

Beaming airhead Shazia Awan asking us what is the right punishment for blasphemy, as if there should, of course, be a punishment for blasphemy in the first place.

Utter disgrace.

The BBC sinks to yet another low.

It’s a sinking corporation already taking in water.

    The BBC seems to be composed of leftie weirdo islamophiles, their bias has been huge for so many many years, cruising along on its laurels of when it used to have journalists and integrity, they expect to be believed because they once were worth believing, it’s employed personnel interview other employees for expert analysis not understanding the world view of many in Britain now has the BBC in sight as being part of an endemic problem.
    Constant simpering appeasement to globalism, multicultulism and General Lefty Moronisism at the expense of common sense and logic is the only way I can put it (although the Americanism “Commie Bastards” would fit quite well, but more as a title than an explanation)

    It feels like Neville Chamberlain has gone to the globalist elite and came back with a little white piece of paper, saying “everything is ok”…

    To hear they (BBC) reach a new low is unsurprising, but still disappointing (ouch! That hit me right in my culture). It’s further middies (way beyond being tarnished) an instetution almost bled dry by its own omissions (it’s favoured method of manipulation) that one wonders what, if left to its own devices, is next for the BBC… and no nice conclusions come to mind
