Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You are well and that You have a had a good week.
This week We should focus our minds on the children. The children who have been locked away from their friends and schools during multiple lockdowns, who have missed the social interactions We adults took for granted when We were children. Also for those who have suffered regularly from abusive parenting. These last years must have been hell for so many.
Because children are so precious and fragile, these inspiring verses remind us that we should protect and defend them in every way we can:
- Psalm 127:3-5 Children are a heritage from the LORD, offspring a reward from him. Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are children born in one’s youth. Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their opponents in court.
- Matthew 18:2-5 He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.
- Matthew 18:10 See that you do not despise one of these little ones. For I tell you that their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven.
- Proverbs 22:6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.
Call your grandchildren today if You are a grandparent or send them something nice. Hug Your children if You are a parent. Today let us think of the children. Let us sacrifice for them.
Children are a precious gift from God. So, when the challenges of life come along, it’s easy to fear for their futures. But praise God, We have the gift of praying for children We know and love, and those around the world who may be facing difficult times. Praying for children is one of the most powerful things You can do as a parent, carer or compassionate Christian. When inclined to worry about the future of our children – as We naturally do from time to time – use this special collection of prayers to lift up your children to our loving Heavenly Father.

Lord God, we praise you that you are fully in control of all things. I pray you would protect my child. Keep them healthy and help them to thrive. I thank you that you know every hair on their head. You know exactly when they rise and when they fall. Watch over my child in every area of their life and keep them safe I pray,
