“I can’t stand Demi Lovato,” my friend Alice complained, “she’s so fat”.
- Alice is a dress size 12, weighs 15 stone and is five foot four. She’s definitely fat. She really shouldn’t be calling anyone fat.
There seems to be a lot of hypocrisy about these days….
“Private schools prop up the class system in society,” Diane whined. “It is inconsistent, to put it mildly, for someone who believes in a fairer and more egalitarian society to send their child to a fee-paying school.”
- Diane sent her son to City of London boys’ school. School fees per term are £6,313 at City of London boys’ school. Diane really shouldn’t be critiquing the effects of private school on the class system.
Emily disagrees with the social housing sell-off: “An excess social housing sell-off is a practice which I firmly oppose”.
- Emily’s husband made £500,000 from a home bought off a housing association. He paid £572,000 for the townhouse at auction in 2007. Emily really shouldn’t be commenting on social housing.
Jon runs Left Futures, a website that rejects the “market fundamentalism of Tory and Labour governments from Thatcher to Blair to Brown.”
- Multi-millionaire Jon is linked to a property company used for tax avoidance and “asset stripping”. Jon really shouldn’t be espousing communism or carping on about market fundamentalism.
John wants to see buy-to-let landlords taxed to the hilt, so second and third homes are available for citizens to buy. “Tackling the burgeoning buy-to-let market is a great and radical idea,” claimed John.
- John has a second home himself — a £170,000 two-bedroom riverside chalet on the Norfolk Broads. John really shouldn’t be clamping down on owners of second homes.
Jeremy showed solidarity with England’s footballers who were subjected to disgusting racist abuse in Bulgaria last month. “Solidarity with the England players who faced appalling racism tonight,” Jeremy piped up. “UEFA needs to do far more to tackle this kind of abuse.”
- Jeremy appeared at a pro-Palestine rally in which protesters held banners comparing Israel to the Nazis. Jeremy is close to Hamas, a militant Islamist group, and Hezbollah, a Lebanese paramilitary group. Both groups are widely viewed in the West as terrorist organisations. He described representatives of Hamas as his “friends” after inviting them to a controversial meeting in Parliament in 2009. Jeremy really shouldn’t be commenting on racism while he has presided over a dramatic spike in antisemitism in the Labour Party.
Let’s expose the hypocrisy, shall we? Hypocrisy insults traditional Labour voters’ intelligence. Ask yourselves this question – why are Labour constituencies some of the poorest and most downtrodden in the UK when the Labour Party has existed since February 1900 to help them?
Answer: The Labour Party is a bunch of rich people convincing poor people to vote for rich people by telling poor people that other rich people are the reason that they remain poor.
