VICAR
Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You are fit and healthy.
This week I would like You to remember one person who has passed. This person could be Your relative, a friend or someone famous. Please think about them. Please remember your experiences with or of them. Then please spend the time to pray for their soul. In so doing You will be breaking through the worldly now and getting in touch with Your spiritual ‘ever’. This is important every day, not just on a Sunday.
What does the Bible say about prayers for the dead?
Romans 14:8
For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s.
John 14:6
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Philippians 4:6
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
If You prefer to think of a dog or a pet then think of them. The choice is Yours to make. Where are they? What was the point of their life? What effect did they have on Your life? Did they leave a legacy of memories that affected Your life or that still do?
Please pray:
We thank You Lord for the passing of our brother/sister. We exalt Your name for the good life he/she lived. We pray oh Lord, that everlasting life be given unto him or her. And as he or she abides in Your garden, let Your angels touch what he/she cannot touch again. Father, be with his/her soul and may he/she rest in perfect eternal peace. Amen
God Bless You All.
