Aside from flowers and breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day, impress the Mama in your life with one of these easy cocktails:
Tea Tini – It’s tea time and Mum will sure enjoy this light short drink on a Spring afternoon.
Ingredients:
- 50ml vodka
- 30ml iced tea (sweet)
- 10ml lemon juice (fresh)
- Garnish: lemon wedge
- Garnish: sugar for glass rim
Method:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass rimmed with sugar.
- Garnish with the lemon wedge.
Pink Lady – A classy feel as the egg white forms a foam that sits on top, not unlike Mum wearing a hat.
Ingredients:
- 50l gin
- 25ml apple brandy
- 7.5ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1-2 dashes grenadine
- 1 egg white
- Garnish: Maraschino cherry
Method:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice cubes.
- Shake vigorously.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Garnish with the cherry.
Ingredients:
- 90ml Rose Pinot Grigio
- 30ml peach schnapps
- 15ml cranberry juice
- 1 rose petal or maraschino cherry (for Garnish)
Method:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Drop a rose petal or cherry in the drink for a garnish.
Ingredients:
- 50ml gin
- 25ml orange liqueur
- 25ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
Method:
- Pour the ingredients into a cocktail shaker filled with ice cubes.
- Shake well.
- Strain into a chilled cocktail glass.
Ingredients:
- 60ml vodka, vanilla if you have it, if not add a tiny splash of vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 fresh passionfruit, reserve the spare half for the garnish
- 15ml passionfruit liqueur
- 15ml simple syrup
- 15ml fresh lime juice
- 60ml Champagne or Prosecco
- Half a fresh passionfruit to garnish
Method:
- Take your cocktail shaker and add a good handful of ice.
- Scoop out the seeds and pulp from 1 and a half passionfruit, reserving the final half for the garnish, into the shaker.
- Add the vodka, vanilla flavoured if you have it followed by the Passion fruit liqueur, sugar syrup and fresh lime juice.
- Shake this fragrant mix until super chilled then pour into your cocktail glass.
- Garnish with the reserved half of passionfruit.
- Serve alongside the shot glass filled with Champagne or Prosecco. Sip the cocktail alongside a sip of the fizz and marvel at this wonderful drink.
Ingredients:
- 60ml vodka
- 30ml pomegranate Liqueur
- 30ml pink grapefruit juice
- Garnish: strawberry
- Garnish: coarse sugar for rimming
Method:
- Rub a wedge of lemon around the rim of a cocktail glass and dip the glass into a plate of coarse sugar. Set it aside.
- Pour the remaining ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice.
- Shake and strain into the prepared glass.
- Garnish with a strawberry.
Ingredients:
- 100ml vodka
- 1 splash of limoncello
Method:
- Pour a splash of limoncello into a frozen cocktail glass.
- Swirl the liqueur around in the glass until all surfaces are coated.
- Shake the vodka in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
- Throw away any excess limoncello in the glass.
- Strain the shaken vodka into the coated cocktail glass.
- Garnish with a lemon twist.
