Rowden Abbey

Rowden Abbey is the ultimate hideaway in the North of Herefordshire, offering bed and breakfast accommodation in the magnificent setting of an Arts & Craft Grade II listed building, dating back to 1801.

Set in 30 acres of lawns and woodland, the Abbey is a superb base to experience the best that Herefordshire has to offer with roaring log fires, oak-panelled reception rooms, a medieval lake, 9 acre Victorian Arboretum, half a mile of the meandering River Froome and of course amazing food and drinks producers right on the doorstep.

The 10 bedroom Abbey is steeped in history going back to the thirteenth century and offers flexible accommodation with individual B&B rooms, family rooms, large suites, a self-catering Coach House and 3 Shepherd Huts. Please note that the Estate is a private home and a working estate with livestock, ongoing ground work and woodland projects and as such we do not allow dogs.

The Arts and Crafts Movement was a reaction to the excesses of Victorian industrialisation. Growing from a desire to revive traditional craftsmanship and restore simplicity and honesty to how buildings and furnishings were made. Rowden Abbey is a spectacular Country House that typifies everything about this movement.

Rowden Abbey is also home to a collection of vintage cars which can be hired, with chauffeur, for the half or full day’s tour of the famous Black & White TrialElgar Route or (the Rowden Abbey favourite) food & drink tour!

With an abundance of local artisan food and drink producers around the area we can also arrange for private tastings as well chauffeured tours.
