Door to a Perfect World

BY MAHIMA SHARMA

Oh, I wish to gaze beyond the Moon
Only if I could gauge that far,
Oh, I wish to gaze beyond the Stars,
Only if I could gauge that far,
Perhaps a better world the, I will discover,
Beyond the stardust… and fantasy of lovers.

A world that lives in harmony,
A world that sings life’s symphony,
Not that every mind would be perfect,
But that only a pure heart will rule,
Not that every life would be perfect,
But not just might, but the RIGHT will rule.

A myriad land drenched in rainbow hues,
A prismatic reflection of life’s perfect cues,
Love would reign, cruelty would cease to exist,
Peace, compassion and empathy… can be added to this list,
Only myriad shades of life would be known,
Arising from seeds of truth & care that was sown.

Beyond the stardust, Moon and stars
Beyond my own life and its scars,
I long for a world where everyone is free,
I long for a world where…
We aren’t slaves of inhumanity!

Or perhaps I can change my own world,
Since change begins from me?
Perhaps I can create a world of harmony,
Because change begins from me!
Ah, now I don’t need to gaze beyond the Moon,
Coz the power lies within me…
To turn the bane into a Boon!
