A Prayer for Strength

VICAR

Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine I trust that I find You well and that You and Your family are still taking the necessary precautions to avoid catching the Coronavirus. I wonder if You have braved a pub yet? I am yet to taste my first pint in a pub since February although I am the first to confess that I have not been leading a beer-free existence since.

Today I would like us to pray for strength. It may be that You are closing a life-changing deal. It may be that You are being harassed by enemies. It may be that You need God’s intervention as one of Your loved ones is sick. Perhaps You are worn down by lock-down and need to feel free again. Either which way there is strength to be found praying in numbers. Knowing that other readers are praying the same prayer should give You confidence at this time.

Whatever is thrown at You will be brushed off. Whatever new obstacle is put in Your way, You will obliterate it. Whatever dreams You have, You can attain them if You envision the future in Your mind’s eye and pray soundly every day. Please be thankful, be humble and You will see opportunities as they arise.

Whenever I pray for strength I think of the persecuted. Those who rose from the concentration camps and led great and successful lives. Those who were harassed and came to excel while their harassers dwindled. Those who led full and colourful lives on earth when their detractors said they were worth nothing.

I wish You all well this week. Have a peaceful and liberating Sunday. Have faith, show love and be hopeful. God Bless.

You are a miracle-working God. Give me a vision for what freedom looks like for me. Give me faith to believe You for my miracle. Show me what makes me tired. Show me what masters me and slows me down. Help me to lose my taste for that which weakens me, and acquire a taste for that which strengthens me. Heal me from the inside out! Help me to make the necessary changes. I want to participate with You in my healing process. Awaken fresh life in me. In Jesus’ Name,

Amen.
