VICAR
Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You are well and enjoying the heatwave. Let us remember those who lost their lives this week in Germany and Belgium in the horrific floods. I particularly pray for Jean, a friend who lost a relative who was electrocuted in an underground car park during the floods.
This week I would like to focus on forgiving and forgiveness. We have all been in situations where we have done wrong and desire forgiveness—from a spouse, family member, friend, or even a co-worker. Sometimes the person we most need forgiveness from is ourselves. And then there are the times when someone is asking us for forgiveness, and we have to look deeply in ourselves to offer it, no strings attached. It’s hard!
Whether you are giving or receiving forgiveness, it’s a very powerful thing.
1 Ephesians 4:32 “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.”
2 Matthew 6:14 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”
Please ask Yourself who can I forgive? But more important in so many ways please ask God to forgive You for that is in His gift to us.
God Bless You all. Have a lovely weekend and a superb week ahead.
My loving God, I admit that I am a sinner! I am sorry for everything that I have done wrong. Today, I repent of those sins, and I ask for your forgiveness. Please fill me with your Holy Spirit to always obey your instructions.
Amen
