Take London out of the equation and Labour currently poll about 18% across the UK. London is the last Labour stronghold and one is left scratching one’s head as to why that might be.
Is it because of Labour mass immigration during the Blair years that tied thousands of London’s voters into welfare and guaranteed them as Labour supporters?
The huge increases in migrants over the last decade were partly due to a politically motivated attempt by ministers to radically change the country and “rub the Right’s nose in diversity”, according to Andrew Neather, a former adviser to Tony Blair, Jack Straw and David Blunkett. Certainly, Labour is strongly supported by migrant voters and ethnic minorities, who make up a far bigger slice of the electorate in London than in most of the rest of the UK. In 2010, 60% of non-white voters backed Labour. The stats would bear this Labour nose-rubbing immigration phenomenon out – the Conservatives were the largest party in the capital in the 1980’s until a 14 point collapse in their vote in 1997 and the Tories have not been able to catch Labour since.
Is it also because London is full of young idealists who tend not to recall the horrors of attempts at socialism in Britain’s past? Again, the stats prove Londoners are younger. Almost one in four Londoners are 16-29, more than in any other UK region.
Recent polls show this General Election that Labour is again set to win big in London despite Labour being led by the least competent gaggle of MPs ever:
Interestingly, Londoners also massively voted remain:
The arguments Londoners put forward for the success of Brexit despite London’s massive Remain vote were too often because London has the highest proportion of cultured and educated folk anywhere in the country – both rich and poor, less subservient and less selfish. That Brexiteers were from the countryside – incorrigible racists, thick and ignorant peasants:
This General Election the Labour party has been well and truly exposed as a ragtag bunch of terrorist-supporting ne’er do wells. It’s difficult to think of a competent Labour MP in London save Kate Hoey. Anyone with the slightest intelligence can read about how bad Labour politicians are – they just need to search on Google and weigh up the piles of black and white evidence on the sheer inadequacies in the Labour team.
If on June 8th London votes in MPs like IRA supporters Jeremy Corbyn (Islington North) and John McDonnell (Hayes & Harlington), racist Diane “Abacus” Abbott (Hackney North and Stoke Newington) and the ridiculous Lady Nugee (Islington South & Finsbury) – politicians that are beyond the pale or utterly incompetent by any gauge of sanity (many of whom actually hate Britain) – then, sorry, but Londoners are the thick ones.
Londoners already voted in the awful Sadiq Khan as Mayor – that was dumb. Now let’s see if they vote in Labour in London at the General Election – that will be even dumber.
