This week let us prayer for those who work at sea. A powerful and fitting quote for those who work at sea comes from the book of Psalms:
They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters; These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.” —Psalm 107:23-24
This verse acknowledges the courage of seafarers and recognises the majesty and power of God displayed in the vastness of the sea.
Let us pray for them:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts full of gratitude for those who work upon the seas. We ask You to watch over them as they embark on journeys across vast and often unpredictable waters. Grant them courage and strength as they face the powerful waves and challenges of their work.
Protect them, Lord, from the dangers that arise in the deep. Wrap them in Your divine shield and guide them safely to their destinations. Bring peace to their minds and hearts, especially during long, lonely nights and moments of uncertainty.
Bless their families waiting at home, and grant them patience and comfort until they are reunited. May those who work at sea always find solace in Your presence and trust in Your steadfast love.
We place their lives, their labour, and their hopes into Your capable hands.
