A Prayer for the Investigators

Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, this week I would like to focus on the unsung heroes who spend their days working for law enforcement, going through photos and videos of child abuse in order to catch perpetrators.

This may seem like a very specific prayer. Indeed it is. I met with one of these gentlemen this week and I could see by the dark rings on his eyes and the way his voice trembled as he spoke of his role that his job is grim.

Is there a more important role in our world than saving children from abuse? Is there a more vital task than shining the light of truth on one of the darkest areas that our existence as humans on this planet has created?

If You are an apologist for the perpetrators and see the need for a lowering of the age of consent then I urge You to think again. The innocence of childhood is harder to protect these days of ubiquitous electronic transmissions but it is the most valuable asset society has nonetheless.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

God Bless You all, Celebrate Sunday, hug your children, and have a wonderful week.
