A Prayer for Sri Lanka

VICAR

Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You and Your families are well.

On Easter Sunday last week, several churches and hotels in Sri Lanka were bombed by Islamic suicide bombers. The death toll is over 200 and includes many people who were attending Easter church services. Our hearts are grieved at this violence targeting Christians during one of the most important events of our faith, and I urge You to pray with me for the nation of Sri Lanka during this time.

These bombings are the most devastating attacks since Sri Lanka’s civil war ended in 2009. They are senseless and barbaric.

Please pray for the nation of Sri Lanka and for the families of those who lost loved ones. Pray for the attackers to be apprehended. Pray for the officials of the nation to have wisdom. Pray especially for Sri Lanka’s Christians and those Britons who lost loved ones. That those with violence in their heads see another way forward.

Amen

I wish You all a peaceful and prosperous week ahead. That You and Your families enjoy what remains of the spring.

God Bless.
