A Prayer for Unity

VICAR

Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You and Your loved ones are well and healthy. I hope that You are having a good weekend despite storm interruptions.

This week I’d like You to pray for harmony and unity. We should try and remember the ideal as written in 1 Corinthians 1:10 –

I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgement.

All too often it is too easy to split and go Your own way than to unite and strive. Leadership tends to create the glue of unity that is required. You follow great leaders wherever they take You. And so the greatest leader, God, calls his people to live in unity with one another, so it is important to make every effort to live together in harmony with everyone. Regardless of beliefs and differences, God commands us to do all in love.

Galatians 3:28

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

If You are unsure of which direction to turn, please make time to pray. Hopefully You will find the way. It is quite amazing how the truth of the Holy Spirit will find a way to speak through You and light up the rightful path to Your next destination along the way.

I trust that You have a peaceful Sunday and a wonderful week to come. Be well and God Bless You All.

Lord Jesus,
Please open our hearts and minds
to the guidance of your Spirit.
Help us to discern the Father’s will
for your Church today.
Do not let our weaknesses or prejudices hinder your work,
and teach us to do all we can
to make the kingdom of the Father come on earth.
Bring us to the harmony and unity given by your Spirit,
and make us one in praising God with you. Hear us, Lord,
for we are your beloved people.

Amen
