VICAR
Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You are well and healthy. This week I would like to pray for patience.
We all face moments where our patience wears thin – either with others, with ourselves, or to be honest, with God’s plan. According to Scripture, patience is a virtue and a fruit of the Spirit, a sign of someone who trusts in God. According to 1 Samuel “lack of patience can cause you to miss blessings.”
Being patient is a vital part of trusting in God as our life circumstances are not always what we’d prefer. There are many well-known Bible verses that discuss the importance of patience and appreciation for the present moment regardless of what we are facing. There are also plenty of Scriptures about how we can love others and be patient in our relationships.
Romans 8:25
But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
Ephesians 4:2
With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love,
Psalm 37:7-9
Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices! Refrain from anger and forsake wrath! Fret not yourself; it tends only to evil. For the evildoers shall be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord shall inherit the land.
I wish You a peaceful Sunday, much patience and a great week to come. God Bless You All.
For this Sunday morning, please free me of any burden of impatience I may have for what is going on in life around me. Help me to have patience like you Lord and help me to replace any impatience with empathy like Jesus. Amen.
