VICAR
Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You are keeping well. I hope that Your families are well also.
It is easy to watch the news and think that the world is falling apart. Ukraine continues to be a bloodbath. Now Sudan seems to have succumbed to warring. It is easy to become despondent and give up on the outside world, retreating into the peace and sanctity of one’s own home. Yet for some, home is also a place of strife and stress as relationships fall apart and debts mount.
It is too easy to see life through a negative prism. It takes faith, hope and love to see life through a positive prism and prayer can help You get to that place of calm and happiness.
Please try to step back from daily pressures and get in touch with your spiritual self from time to time. Yes, it can be difficult to see the wood from the trees. The world is full of injustice, sin and sadness but there are so many positives and so much light shines amidst the darkness.
This week I would like You to please pray for those parts of the world whose peoples are suffering. I wish You and Your families well. God Bless You all and have a peaceful Sunday and a positive week ahead.
And good luck to the CSM 3!
O God, who would fold both heaven and earth in a single peace:
let the design of thy great love
lighten upon the waste of our wraths and sorrows:
and give peace to thy Church,
peace among nations,
peace in our dwellings,
and peace in our hearts:
through thy Son our Saviour Jesus Christ.
Amen.
