VICAR
Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, Happy Christmas and Happy New Year! I trust that You are ready for some work on Wednesday and that You realise today is Sunday.
This week I ask You to look around. It may be that there is an elderly neighbour who has been visited by no-one this Christmas. Perhaps a foreign student is sat there in a flat without company. Is there a relative who has closeted themselves away and needs a call? Loneliness becomes starkest around this time of the year.
Please at least pray for them:
Lord God, in this special season, I come to You on behalf of those whose holidays are mournful reminders of loss or lack in their lives. I pray for those who, perhaps like Mary and Joseph upon their arrival in Bethlehem, feel forgotten or excluded over the holidays. Amen
God Bless You All.
Have a superb 2024.
