Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You are well and, especially if You are on holiday, relaxed.

This week I have been asked to offer a prayer for our daughters. So that is what I have done below.

Psalms 144:12

12 Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.

1 Timothy 5:1-2

1 Do not rebuke an older man harshly, but exhort him as if he were your father. Treat younger men as brothers,

2 older women as mothers, and younger women as sisters, with absolute purity.

It’s important for parents to be gentle, understanding, compassionate and affectionate. There has to be a heart to heart connection between parents and their children, and children should feel encouraged and loved deeply by their parents.

Father almighty, Watch over my daughter and protect her – give her wisdom and prudence to steer clear of threatening or dangerous situations and people. Protect her from all harm. Deliver her from the devil’s temptations and keep her from evil. Be her safeguard when I cannot be there for her. Amen
