VICAR
This time of year, as the expense of the Christmas holidays inevitably approaches, I often think about those facing financial hardship. It can be a difficult time, filled with anxieties about making ends meet, providing for loved ones, and keeping a roof over one’s head. It’s a time when many feel isolated and overwhelmed by the pressures of a world that seems designed for those with ample resources. So this week, Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, let us focus on those struggling financially.
“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Psalm 23:1
Financial hardship can feel like a heavy weight, but it’s important to remember that we are not alone in our struggles. There are those who care, organisations that offer support, and a God who promises provision and guidance.
Let us pray for those pleading financial hardship this autumn, that they may find ways to scrape by and the humility to recognise the bonus of what they already possess.
Have a blessed week and God bless You all.
Heavenly Father, we thank you for your unending love and mercy. We pray for those facing financial hardship, that they may find comfort in your presence and guidance in their lives. Help them to find the resources they need, to see their way forward and pay off debts, and to know that you are with them every step of the way. Help us, as a community, to be more mindful of those facing financial difficulty, offering compassion, support, and whatever help we can provide. May those struggling find hope and relief, knowing that you are their provider and protector. Amen.
