VICAR
As we gather on this Palm Sunday, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment in our Lenten journey—a day marked by both triumph and solemn anticipation. The waving of palms and the cries of “Hosanna!” remind us of Christ’s entry into Jerusalem, welcomed by many yet soon to be betrayed. It is a time of tension between glory and sorrow, of joy shadowed by the cross. Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, let us enter this Holy Week with reverence and intention, opening our hearts to the deep mystery of Christ’s passion, and to the love that carries us through suffering into hope.
“Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey.”
Zechariah 9:9
Palm Sunday invites us to welcome Christ anew—not only as the King who enters the city, but as the Saviour who enters our lives, calling us to follow Him with courage and humility.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You on this Palm Sunday with hearts full of praise and wonder. As we remember the crowds who welcomed Your Son with palm branches and joyful cries, may we too welcome Him into our lives with sincerity and trust. Grant us the grace to walk with Christ through the days ahead, not turning away when the road becomes steep, but holding fast to His promise of redemption. Help us to lay down our burdens as the people once laid their cloaks upon the road—offering our lives in service to Your will. Strengthen our faith as we enter Holy Week, that we may remain steadfast in love, even in the face of sorrow. May the path that leads to the cross also lead us to resurrection joy. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.
God bless you all.
