RSPB Solar Farm Propaganda Debunked

The RSPB’s solar farm study is a shameless greenwash—a PR stunt masquerading as science. They brag about ‘three times as many birds’ on solar farms as compared to arable farmland while ignoring the thousands fried alive by solar flux or smashed into panels. Ivanpah alone incinerates 6,000 birds a year, and even standard PV farms kill up to 580 birds annually per 50MW. But sure, let’s celebrate a few extra linnets flitting around hedgerows while pretending the charred corpses don’t exist.

Here’s the scam:

The ‘benefits’ come from hedgerows and wildflowers, not the industrial solar blight. If you restored farmland properly—without slapping down glass and steel death traps—you’d get even more birds. But the RSPB won’t admit that because they’re too busy shilling for renewables, cozy with energy giants like Ecotricity.

Remember when they backed wind farms despite seabird massacres? Now they’re pulling the same con with solar.

And let’s talk about their bogus comparison. Stacking ‘nature-friendly’ solar farms against pesticide-drenched wastelands is like claiming cigarettes are healthy because they’re safer than arsenic. Real conservation means agroecology, hedgerow restoration, and kicking industrial farming—not turning bird habitats into power plants.

Meanwhile, bats get disoriented and smashed, hedgehogs get fenced out, and pollinators suffer under altered microclimates. But the RSPB doesn’t care. This isn’t science—it’s propaganda. If they gave a damn about birds, they’d be fighting for real habitat restoration, not cheerleading another corporate land grab dressed in eco-friendly lies.

Bottom line?

Solar farms are bird-killing, land-hogging scams.

The RSPB sold out.

Don’t buy their lies.
