Dear Readers,
A very Happy New Year to you all.
As we step into 2026, I find myself reflecting on the journey we’ve shared and the path that lies ahead. This past year has reaffirmed the vital importance of unwavering advocacy for our rural communities. The Labour Party ‘government’ are rocking; December’s part-reversal on the farmer inheritance tax shows their increasing vulnerability as we move into 2026.
So, what can you expect from Team Country Squire in the coming year?
Our commitment to expanding our reach and strengthening collaborations continues with renewed vigour. We will bring you even richer content that captures the true spirit of rural life—its challenges, its triumphs, and the vibrant communities at its heart.
In the UK, our focus remains steadfast on illuminating the pressing issues facing our countryside. We will champion environmental stewardship, support for local enterprise, and the authentic voices that we feel deserve a platform. Our mission is to go beyond the surface, telling the stories from the heart of our communities that resonate deeply and drive change.
This year, we renew our pledge to hold power to account. We will confront hypocrisy and challenge those who claim to speak for rural life while undermining its foundations. Advocating for integrity and substance has never been more critical, and we invite you to stand with us in this essential endeavour. Silence is not an option; truth must have its champion, whatever the costs.
Our team is more energised than ever to deliver the quality journalism you trust.
2026 stands as a year of significant opportunity—for growth, for connection, and for meaningful impact.
Your perspective is invaluable to our mission. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly at editor@countrysquiremagazine.co.uk with your insights, story leads, or themes you believe need highlighting.
Here’s to a year of clarity, purpose, and shared success.
Warmest wishes,
Dom Wightman
