Notes from the Actual Countryside

BY GARY BAXTER

Last week I went to see Charlie Jacoby at a gathering of likeminded folk not too far from home. It was nice to see so many people there for an evening of fun.

While there I was described as the second most angry falconer and field sports enthusiast in the country. Well I know I have much displeasure with those utter dipsticks in government especially when it comes to their absolute bloody ignorance of our precious countryside and the downright shite tricks they have pulled in the past few years like favouring predators over our precious red, amber and green listed birds on these islands on which we live.

Due to the actions of those in charge, much of our flora and fauna is suffering but it’s NOT through the reasons they tell the public. If you watch to the abysmal thing shown by BBC – I think they call it Countryfile – you might believe the crap they are emitting rather than the reality.

It’s down to the money grabbing ways of the RSPB to name one such greedy organisation, this absolute shower of shite who at one time had Mark Avery as head of conservation will – in the next 20 years by my estimates –  consign the most majestic of Scotland’s birds, the Capercaillie, to extinction.

We have armchair anoraks in charge of our wild places and the birds and animals that live on them. They have no knowledge of the great outdoors let alone managing God’s creatures. Natural England south of the border have proven themselves unable to look after our precious Curlew by doing pest control. That absolute shambles had to wait for the outcome of a study by the Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust to produce the results of their study BEFORE they would get off their arses and do SOMETHING that every countryman and countrywoman has known for generations – PEST CONTROL – and they had to have a meeting at London wetlands centre to decide to make it part of the bloody toolbox. That place is full of tools MOST OF THEM DUE FOR THE SKIP. I know because I met the so called headman some years back. My son knew more than that pillock and Peter was only 13 years old at the time.

It has taken in my eyes less than 25 years for this damage to be done.

We have flocks of jackdaws taking birds’ eggs on a massive scale but Tony Juniper Head of Natural England says this doesn’t happen. We have hordes of magpie stripping hedgerows every spring and carrion crows everywhere.

This is just the start.

Since that Packham bloke and his 2 revolting friends got involved with their thing called Wild Injustice (yes, that’s right – injustice and the tricks and lies spread saying our gulls were dying out) all gulls are now protected. No bugger said a word when the estimated 250,000 of these non-sea going shite hawks dropped on the forest of Bowland moors stripping ground nesting birds’ young and eggs.

Yes I have my back up. I may be an awkward bugger. Yes I ask that lot very awkward questions. But if I didn’t who would?

The question I remember asking not so far back was to the head licencing officer for Natural Resources Wales. He told me they were petrified of Packham and would do anything to make him happy. Well, here’s another question to you … does that include kissing goodbye to the farmers of Wales in favour of trees all over the place that we know won’t grow? I bloody well hope not.

How can anyone be petrified of Packham? You lot on Country Squire showed the world how to deal with him. The Marmite headlines were brilliant and so true! Attenborough II my arse! He’s a nobody, an outlier and he’s outflanked by the mainstream. Just take a look at YouTube and Gareth Wyn Jones’ two million followers compared to Packham’s 17,000!

When the clowns we employ to represent us in countryside bodies run off instead of having the balls to face us their EMPLOYERS !!! How dare they! I have sat and I have watched and I have listened to these people all my life and yes I have taken it in and to be perfectly honest my blood pressure is NOT COPING WELL!

We have a Welsh minister who would rather see the agricultural game in Wales go to the wall. A first minister in their parliament who couldn’t lay straight on a plank if he tried who would sooner see the end of farming and import food from the other side of the flamin globe not giving a toss about the bloody carbon footprint.

Now whatever you do, DONT LISTEN TO THAT BUNCH OF ARSES North of the border who seem to have done another bit of iffy research into old stripey!! Apparently he is not responsible for taking lambs or much anything else for that matter let alone old spiky hedge pig !!! Now I have a thought – I wonder who the brains behind that was? I have no bloody idea though no doubt it was one of them ecologist types fresh out of uni who is just about qualified to stack shelves in a f@#king supermarket.

I know a bloke who went out with one of them one day and he was intent he had seen a grouse down here in the Midlands!!! Turned out to be a pair of English partridge.

The problem is dear old Brian May and the 3 clowns from injustice in the wild can’t get it through their heads that old stripey will take anything that’s there – from bumble bees to ewes that are cast in the field, even breaking into lambing sheds.

Here in England, it’s not much brighter. Our government won’t listen. Rishi rat cares not one jot that our farmers are on the march. God bless them our so-called sporting organisations are too busy having a go at their own membership. The alliance was set up to fight for those of us in the countryside so they said. I can’t see them doing a lot to be honest.

My father said years ago if our organisations actually sorted themselves out, joined forces and stood together we might have a chance.

On top of that I hear of a farm in Norfolk being paid by developers to NOT farm 500 acres. FOOD SECURITY?

Come on Northamptonshire farmers block the ruddy A14 !!

No, I am not mad. I am not upset. I am verging on fucking furious.
