An Advent Prayer

VICAR

Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, Christmas is almost here. I trust that You are well and joyous. I pray that Your families are healthy and happy. I hope that You have enough of what You need to make this Christmas a memorable and peaceful one.

Now is the time to forget Your troubles and try to enjoy. It’s time to celebrate the Christmas story and be in good spirits. It is also a time to look out for others, especially lonely neighbours or those going through strife. Perhaps drop a parcel to a food bank or drop a Christmas card in on an old neighbour who has no family to visit this Christmas.

God Bless You All. I wish You a superb Christmas and we shall reconnect for the last Sunday of the year.

O God,
by your holy prophets
you promised that your only Son
would come in the flesh for us
and be born of a virgin.
In these last days you have fulfilled your Word.
When he who came to redeem the world
comes to be our judge,
let us not be put to shame;
through the merits of your Son,
Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
