A Prayer of Gratitude

Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that You are doing well and that You are enjoying some time outside in the glorious sunshine.

It is easier when it is sunny to look around and appreciate the good things. The beauty of our countryside, the relative cornucopia in which We live. From the beautiful wildlife that surrounds us to the majesty of the blue sky down to the hair on our heads. Today I ask of You to look around You and be grateful for what You have. You may be someone who is bitter or depressed or angry. Try if You can to rise above any prejudices or afflictions for a moment and give thanks for all the positives.

16. Colossians 3:15-17

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful. Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts. And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

17. Colossians 4:2

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.

18. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.

Take refuge in the Bible. Its verses can be clear and helpful. Fear stems from negative thoughts. Being a positive thinker helps to eliminate fear. Courage comes from the fact that if you stay positive you will know that whatever happens in your life, you can deal with it – that you are strong and resilient. Have faith. Be strong in hope and love. Relax knowing the power that You have at Your fingertips when You can fall back on Truth, Faith and Love.

I wish You all well this weekend. God Bless You All. Have a peaceful Sunday and another superb week to come.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.

Wait and Listen for the knock at Your door. Open it. Let change flood through Your life and admit You are merely human – straw in the wind before the Higher Power.

Thank you, Lord, for the blessings you have bestowed on my life. You have provided me with more than I could ever have imagined. You have surrounded me with people who always look out for me. You have given me family and friends who bless me every day with kind words and actions. You have given me so much and I am truly grateful.
