A Prayer for the Trapped

Dear Readers of Country Squire Magazine, I trust that you are well. This week let us pray for those who feel trapped.

Heavenly Father, we lift to You all those who are trapped—in forced marriages, in chains of slavery, in unhappy relationships that stifle the soul, in homes that feel like prisons, and in the unseen cages of fear and despair. Lord, You are the God who “sets the captives free” (Isaiah 61:1), who breaks every yoke and whispers hope into the darkest places.

We pray for Your deliverance over those bound against their will. Where there is oppression, bring justice; where there is loneliness, bring companionship; where there is despair, bring light. Strengthen the hearts of those who feel forgotten, and remind them that they are seen, loved, and valued by You.

Lord, be their refuge. For those trapped in marriages without love, grant courage and a way forward. For those enslaved by others’ greed, send rescue and restoration. For those imprisoned in unhappy homes, open doors—both practical and spiritual. Surround them with advocates, helpers, and moments of unexpected kindness.

We ask for Your divine intervention. Stir the hearts of lawmakers, neighbours, and strangers to act with compassion. Where systems fail, be their shield. Where hope falters, be their song. May they feel Your presence as a steady hand leading them toward freedom, step by step.

Amen.

May all who are trapped today find solace in Your promise: “The Lord hears the needy and does not despise His captive people” (Psalm 69:33).

God bless you, Dear Readers, and may we never turn away from those in chains. Have an excellent week to come and a peaceful, stress-free Sunday.
