The final act of growing up, psychiatrists tell us, is to take responsibility for yourself. Children who never grow up, including sociopaths and the intellectually enfeebled will always blame circumstances and events. Never do they accept that what has happened is down to them. It’s always someone else’s fault.
Two examples prove this point. Look at the government and the BBC. Far Left excusitis culture is in full swing. By contrast country men and field sports enthusiasts, often quite unconsciously, understand this:
‘I missed that bird,’ says a rough shooter. An explanation that said duck decided to stuka dive out of shot is accepted with a wry smile. Similarly, hounds chase off on a fool’s errand but the whipper-in will not blame them. Nor will she blame the hapless rabbit they chased – incidentally this is entirely legal. No, she’ll work to retrieve the situation on her own initiative
But when it comes to our elite, there is no acceptance of responsibility. The government and the BBC give clear examples of this.
The fast-imploding Labour administration continues to blame the Conservatives for the shortfalls in public finance. Yet the Labour Party knew what it was getting into when it sought political office. It knew full well the pandemic cost Britain billions. Foolhardy ideas of paying people to stay at home crippled the economy. We have yet to recover from the short-sighted stupidity of such action. As prominent Conservative Brexiteer, Daniel Hannan put it:
What did you think was going to happen? Labour not only backed lockdown but wanted to prolong it. This makes them as culpable as the Johnson administration.
Moreover when a minister gets caught out they blame an underling or not being told.
They fool no one.
Then look at the BBC. The Beeb has been caught red-handed splicing videotape to make it look as if Donald Trump was staging a coup d’etat. What a disgrace. The US president did nothing of the sort.
Rather than admit that they run biased newscasts, the Beeb has attempted to blame the exposé on the Daily Telegraph. It was the Telegraph’s reporters who spotted their skulduggery. The BBC still maintains it is objective in its news reporting. Cue snort of derision.
This is the same organisation which accepted Hamas terrorist statistics and reports at face value. Its reporters on BBC Arabic routinely called for the elimination of Israel. Dr Goebbels could hardly have performed better. Bias doesn’t stop there. The BBC has promoted a transgender-agenda, demonstrably dangerous to impressionable children as well as risible global warming scaremongering.
As a firm believer in free speech I do not want to see the BBC abolished. Rather it should be recast as a British voice which fights for Britain’s interests. At the moment it does nothing of the sort. For the time being I rely on GB News and American networks like the Daily Wire and the wonderfully named Fox News.
Do not believe what you’re being told by the establishment media. Think for yourself – take responsibility.
