Classic Whiskey Sour


  • 60ml Bourbon whiskey
  • 30ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 20ml simple syrup
  • 1 egg white from a small to medium egg
  • Ice
  • 1 maraschino cherry


  • Place the bourbon, lemon juice, simple syrup, and egg white in a cocktail shaker. Do not add ice yet. Shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  • Add ice and shake for 7 to 10 seconds more to chill.
  • Strain the cocktail through a fine-mesh strainer into a coupe glass.
  • Garnish with a speared maraschino cherry and serve.
